The Adventurous Skater
The adventurous roller skater is a picture book that covers the theme of perfectionism.
We all have goals and dreams. We usually envision ourselves as professionals. We imagine how this goal will play out in our heads. But what happens when we actually start? Throughout this book we make an exploration of that question. While the main character expectation helps push this motivation of becoming a professional roller skater, we see that the path to getting there isn’t as easy. We follow her journey as she makes her way from her bedroom to the outside world. Slowly realizing that perseverance and having fun is key! Building a new skill is takes time. Having a great imagination helps with motivation, but it's also important to let go of expectation and enjoy the moment.
